Each year the fund honors students from fourth through 11th grades who demonstrate academic achievement by maintaining at least a 3.75 GPA and “embody significant humanitarian qualities.”
Previously recognized scholars include Kaitlyn Dick, Campbell Clouse and Casey Clouse from Butler Area Senior High School, Reilly Martin from First Baptist Christian School, Ethan Lu, Claire Elliott, Angela Zacherl and James Orlando from North Catholic High School and Katelyn Phillips from Saint Kilian Parish School.
The nonprofit was founded in 1994 by Ben Carson and his wife, Candy.
